This B-listed church building on the outskirts of Aberdeen city centre had a number of issues relating to dampness affecting the internal fabric on the south facing elevation. The church team had done a great job in finding the source(s) of the problem areas and had these rectified, but now had to deal with the moisture that had become trapped behind the internal walls causing large damp patches to appear.
The affected areas were stripped out, reframed, foil backed plasterboard fitted, then a plaster finish applied. We managed to retain some of the timbers, but in some areas these had to be removed entirely, including a timber lintel over one of the windows.
